(My) Life in the Country

Happy April Fool's Day! As I sat down to write this post, I asked my 15yo daughter, Maddy, "What did we do yesterday? I can't remember." Then I realized that we had pretty much done the same thing as we've done every other day since the quarantine started and we laughed.

We live in the country and there are farms everywhere, including across the road from us. We often stop to see the horses, cows, sheep and other farm animals in the area. Cows are very social creatures and enjoy interacting with people. Maddy and I often visit with them at the farm across from us. Like dogs, cows love having their heads and necks scratched. I've posted some photos in a slideshow below, of our life in the country, including some of our cow and other animal friends. I took all of the photos myself.

I encourage all of YOU to take some time to get outside each day, even if it's just in your back yard. Breathe in the fresh air, walk around the neighborhood (while social distancing), Instagram some pretty flowers, take in the scenery, and ENJOY. [Slideshow: our 140 yr. old house, some of our animal friends, and where we hike & go mountain biking in the summer.]

Yesterday I spent most of the day creating this site. So many of you are very CREATIVE, so I encourage you to create your own online website, blog, journal here! It's really easy and there are so many fun things you can do. You can embed your Spotify playlist and share music, or YouTube videos, share your photos via Instagram, and more. And of course you can add your JOURNAL entries. (Email me if you'd like one of YOUR journal entries featured on this site. Be sure to check grammar! Extra credit points will be given if you get published.)
